Mick resolutely doesn't look at Ramon when the leader of the group calls him out, asks him why he's there. So he talks, in short, halting sentences about his partner. "We'd known each other thirty years. Met in juvie when he was too mouthy to keep his head down and stay outta trouble. I shoulda known my life wouldn't have been the same after that."
