He'd explained the basics of how his powers worked to Mick awhile back, just so he understood what he was doing, why he needed to keep the ring.
"It wasn't long, I asked him if he was alive and he said 'A version of it' and he doesn't know where he is." Which wasn't helpful, basically at all, but it was something and that was more than what they'd had in weeks.
